Last night, I introduced our 19-year-old Japanese homestay student to a couple 2-player Knizia games, Lost Cities and Carcassonne: The Castle. Lost Cities went alright, though she kept starting too many columns, an easy temptation when you're not yet familiar with the game's pace. But she much preferred The Castle (which we have on loan from Joe). Afterward, we climbed the stairs to find Tammy covered in cat and buried in fan fiction (her natural state) and Satomi said of The Castle, "it is an interesting game... I used my brain!"
